Precautions for using activated carbon filters

Jun. 25, 2024

Activated carbon filter is a more commonly used water treatment equipment, as a water treatment desalination system pre-treatment can adsorb the residual chlorine that can not be removed in the pre-filtration, can effectively ensure the service life of the post-stage equipment, improve the quality of effluent water. What do you need to pay attention to when using activated carbon filters?

Precautions when using activated carbon filters are as follows:

(A)When the activated carbon filter is run for the first time, it should be vented, the venting process is very simple, open the exhaust valve, water inlet valve, water inlet, and then until the exhaust valve discharge water without air.

(B)When backwashing the equipment, the strength should be controlled to avoid the filter material washing leakage.

(C)If the equipment is reopened after a long-term shutdown, it is necessary to wash the filter material for about 5 minutes until the water of the equipment becomes clear.

(D)If it is a large filter can use the method of air scrubbing to enhance the effect of backwashing.

(E)When backwashing, the backwashing strength should be controlled to avoid activated carbon flushing leaking out of the system.

(F)According to the different water quality of the water, it is necessary to replace the filter material regularly, in general, it is appropriate to replace it once every 3-6 months.

The above is the introduction of the precautions when using activated carbon filters, and now activated carbon filters play a huge role in water treatment. After the treatment of activated carbon filter, organic matter, heavy metals, colloids and other impurities in raw water can be well filtered, which greatly improves the quality of water.
