What are the factors that affect the operation of reverse osmosis membrane?

Dec. 09, 2022

1. Pressure. The increase of the water supply pressure increases the water flux of the membrane, and the increase of the pressure does not affect the salt passage. Under the condition that the salt permeation remains unchanged, the salt content of the product water decreases when the water flux increases, and the desalination rate increases. .
2. Temperature. When the feedwater temperature is increased while other operating parameters remain unchanged, the product water flux and salt permeation increase.
3. The salt content of the feed water. The increase of the salt content of the feed water affects the salt permeation and product water flux, so that the product water flux and desalination are both decreased.
4. Recovery rate. Increase the recovery rate of product water, the flux of product water decreases, and the desalination rate also decreases.
5. The PH value of the water supply. The desalination rate and water flux are relatively constant within a certain pH value range, and the pH of the maximum desalination rate is 8.5.
