How often should the reverse osmosis membrane be replaced?

Oct. 18, 2022

As one of the commonly used membrane types in water treatment, reverse osmosis membranes need to be cleaned or replaced after a period of time, so how often are reverse osmosis membranes replaced?

In general reverse osmosis membrane in use due to water quality and other factors, the replacement cycle is usually 3-5 years, but the specific replacement time depends on the daily maintenance and cleaning of the reverse osmosis membrane in a timely manner, and the quality of the water will also determine how long the membrane can be used. Generally speaking, if the water quality meets the requirements, i.e. the pretreatment of pure water equipment is stable, then the specified service life of the reverse osmosis membrane can be achieved.

The above is an introduction to the replacement time of reverse osmosis membranes, as the design, actual use and maintenance of each membrane system will be different, so the service life of reverse osmosis membranes will also vary, but if there is a significant reduction in water output and an increase in the amount of waste water, the reverse osmosis membrane can be replaced.
